about

Nielle Reinhart is a mother of 2 wonderful children, a wife of a U.S. Veteran, and a collector of lovable rescue dogs! She has been a teacher over 2 decades in the Corona-Norco Unified School District. Nielle has always had a passion for making education something fun and approachable for her students. In her early education at San Diego State University, Nielle taught children via multiple fun hands-on learning programs including Mad Science, America Reads, and the Discovery Channel.

After attaining her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Nielle worked for the San Diego Department of Social Services. Nielle went on to earn her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, then her Special Education Teaching Credential, and then later her Masters in Special Education.

Several years ago, during an economic downturn, Nielle noticed that many of her students began to struggle academically- even those who had previously been some of her more academically advanced students. It was during a normal class period that she heard many of her student's stomachs growling. The numbers of days this occurred began to seem unusual, so she began watching her students. Nielle noticed that many of the students who were not doing as well in class were receiving free lunches. Nielle decided to talk with one of her students whom she had a good connection with, and found out that some of the students were skipping breakfast to walk their younger siblings to school and were saving a portion of their daily lunches to ensure that they would have food on weekends.

Nielle's determination to meet her students needs has blossomed into several charities that are now housed under the AngelHART Network:

  • Backpack Fridays- ensures students in need have food to take home with them on the weekends.

  • School Pantries-Many schools throughout our district now have a pantry of supplies, food, and toiletries that are available for students in need.

  • Thanksgiving Dinners- this is an extension of Backpack Fridays, gifting many of the students        participating in Backpack Fridays with a family meal for the holidays.

In light of this amazing work and dedicated service to her students, Nielle received many notable awards including the Teacher of the Year (2017), the Beyond the Classroom Award (2017), the Hope Child and Family Advocate Award (2017), The Unity Award (2017), and the Crystal Apple Award (2018). Nielle was also nominated for the Woman of the Year Award in 2017!

Nielle Reinhart and the AngelHART Network believe communities thrive when people are nourished in body and mind!
